On the one hand they really should have mentioned DD’s existence before the episode where it’s revealed he killed Edo’s dad. But on the other hand the fastest way to get me to care about a character is showing that Edo cares about them, so it only took one flashback to baby Edo asking DD to stay champion so he challenge him to get me to feel very hurt by his betrayal.
